The Salt Path

I picked this one up because of the movie that came out based on it with Gillian Anderson. The trailer made it look like the walk of a couple where the husband had a terminal illness. I also enjoy normal travel, hiking books. In that regard it was good along the english coastline, wild camping, meeting people, towns and nature, very little money.

What i didn't like was the characters. They invested poorly and while their kids were at uni, lost everything, the family home, any way of supporting their kids. I finished the book but I normally relate and admire the characters and i couldn't in this one. Turns out the terminal illness did not eventuate either, from increased oxygen due to walking and cabbage leaves or some garbage, I think it was just a ploy to dress us a rather selfish story.
